Aliyah to Israel approves same-sex couples
With an innovative amendment to the Law of Return, the Home Office decided to allow Jewish same-sex couples to receive Israeli citizenship.
According to the Law of Return, any Jew has the right to apply for Israeli citizenship. The right extends under law to plaintiff couples also though not Jewish / a. The law, however, was previously only reserved for heterosexual couples.

This week, the Ministry of Interior, and several same-sex couples non-Jewish Jews have already applied for citizenship.
"The doors of Israel from now will be open to any Jew and his family, without discrimination based on their lifestyle," said the interior minister, Gideon Saar said in a statement.
In Israel itself, much remains to be done: Jewish marriage services are controlled by the state rabbinate, which does not perform same-sex marriages; nor is there any option of civil marriage for Jews.
